The Fulbright Program provides grants for graduate students, scholars and professionals, and teachers and administrators from the United States and other countries.
The Educational Information and Resources office works with partner organizations to strengthen the services that support international students and scholars on U.S. campuses. These efforts include professional development and training for foreign student advisers, admissions personnel, and other staff at U.S. universities and colleges.
The Currents in American Scholarship series offers Americanists abroad updates on the status of theory and practice in disciplines relevant to the study of the society, culture, and institutions of the United States. Prominent scholars from across the United States graciously accepted the invitation of the Study of the U.S. Branch to author annotated bibliographies. We hope the series proves to be valuable in introducing or refreshing courses on the United States or expanding library collections.
Partnerships may focus on disciplines in the social, political, and economic sciences; public administration; the humanities; business; economics; law; journalism and communications; public health policy and administration; library science; and educational administration.
The School Connectivity Program provides students, educators, and community members with opportunities to access and share information, foster cross-cultural understanding, and incorporate project-based learning methodologies into classroom lessons through Internet access and linkages with U.S. schools. Revitalizing a spirit of solidarity across nations, School Connectivity strengthens the capacity for international educators to integrate the Internet into their academic programs in a way that fosters democracy and cultural understanding.
The Community Voices, Collaborative Solutions (CIVICS) program is in its 4th year of grant funding. iEARN (the International Education and Resource Network) will continue to develop online ESL tools for educators in Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the United States to enhance their civic education and social science curricula.
The U.S. Department of State supports many country-specific youth exchange programs.
Model United Nations Programs are a great way for students of all ages to learn about international relations and to gain a better sense of what a varied and fascinating world we live in.
