The program is designed to strengthen ties between the younger generations of Germany and America. Participants expand their perspectives and awareness of each other's culture, society, history, and politics. German and American youth are provided a full scholarship for an academic year.

FULBRIGHT PROGRAM

The Fulbright Program is designed to "increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries..." With this goal, the Fulbright Program has provided more than 250,000 participants with the opportunity to study and teach in each other's countries, exchange ideas, and develop joint solutions to address shared concerns.

SCHOOL CONNECTIVITY PROGRAMS

The Global Connections and Exchange Program provides students, educators, and community members with opportunities to access and share information, foster cross-cultural understanding, and incorporate project-based learning methodologies into classroom lessons through internet access and linkages with U.S. schools. Revitalizing a spirit of solidarity across nations, Global Connections strengthens the capacity for international educators to integrate the internet into their academic programs in a way that fosters democracy and cultural understanding.

PARTNERSHIPS FOR LEARNING
YOUTH EXCHANGE AND STUDY (P4L-YES) PROGRAM

The P4L-YES program provides scholarships for secondary school students from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend up to one academic year in the United States. The program is vital to expanding communication between the people of the U.S. and the partner countries in the interest of promoting mutual understanding and respect.

PARTNERSHIPS FOR LEARNING
UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES (PLUS) PROGRAM

The PLUS Program reaches a broad sector of college age youth who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and a desire to enhance relations between the United States and their home countries. The PLUS Program is an open, merit-based competition for youths who otherwise may not have access to American higher education.

AMERICAN COUNCIL OF
YOUNG POLITICAL LEADERS (ACYPL)

ACYPL is one of the Office of Citizen Exchanges' "Traditional Public-Private Partnerships" (TPPP) grantee organizations. ACYPL enhances mutual understanding of political systems, foreign cultures, and ideologies among emerging American and foreign political leaders, ages 25-40.
